I am a born and raised Morris County native, where my Crossfit enthusiast husband, our little “fur family”, and I have settled down as well. I loved all sports as a kid (softball, basketball, gymnastics...) but in middle school I went out for the cross country team to stay in shape, and that was when I fell in love with running. The saying "my sport is every other sport's punishment" rang true to me. My strongest portions of races was when everyone else tinkered out - hills and the big sprint end.
Over my 19 years of running experience, I ran competitively in middle school and high school, trained and completed my first marathon in college, completed several fun runs, 5K's, and most recently a half marathon. Running training has always held a place in my heart; researching as much as possible to build myself into a stronger athlete and provide advice to friends and family.
My biggest motivation came to me a few years ago, while nursing a L5S1 disc herniation. I was tired of saying "my back is shot", "I can't do that." I knew that there were others like me who had conquered injuries and I was desperate to get back out on the road. I took to Physical Therapy and light running, and was able to successfully train for and complete a half marathon with no back pain. I knew that I could continue to prove I was capable of overcoming this injury, and in the process help others struggling with the same roadblocks. This was my defining moment where I realized I wanted to be a running coach and create a community of runners eager to surpass their biggest goals, and build each other up in the process.
